The RIS 2008 Supplementary Regulations is on line and the countdown towards the 15th May, when the shakedown of the fifth edition of the Event will take place, has started.

Since today, till 10th April, it is possible to send the own entry request in order to be admitted to the Italian Round of the WRC. The goal is to exceed the almost flattering total number of Entries that was already reached in occasion of the last edition in 2007, thanks to the great opportunity to take part at the Trofeo Rally Terra, strictly connected to the RIS 2008.

The Rally Italia Sardegna 2008 – scheduled in May 15th / 18th – will be developed through 17 Special Stages for a total of 344,73 km chrono timed and raced along three racing Days. The longest Special Stage will be the Crastazza one (33,96 km long – first day), the shortest will be the Liscia Ruja one (2,69 km long – third day), that will be TV broadcasted and it will be the last stage of the Italian Round of the WRC, raced just before the Podium Ceremony that will take place in Porto Cervo.

The FIA has released the authorization that allows the Organizing Committee to divulge the Supplementary Regulations and it has given the opportunity to set up the program of the Trofeo Rally Terra too. It will take place during the titled Race.

The Trofeo Rally Terra Competitors will race a total of 173,71 km developed along 9 Special Stages and three racing days. The program expects that the passages along the Special Stages will take place after the second passages of those cars involved in the Italian Round of the WRC. The Leg of the Trofeo Rally Terra, exactly as for the titled one, will be characterized by a start and finish Ceremony, which will take place respectively on Thursday, 15th May and on Sunday 18th May. Reconnaissances will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, as for the titled Competitors. The Shakedown will take place on Thursday 12:00 – 14:00.

The Sardinian round of the Italian Rally – whose result’s value is doubled compared with all the other Manches – will be characterized by a separated classification and by a dedicated Stewards of the Meeting.
